iVAULT helps the City of Whitehorse successfully integrate GIS with financial and asset data.
Vancouver, BC – January 27, 2011 – Pacific Alliance Technologies (PAT) today announced the adoption of iVAULT by the City of Whitehorse, capitol of Canada’s Yukon Territory. This growing city, famous for its natural beauty, was looking for a solution to easily move to ESRI ArcGIS Server 10 platform and integrate their financial and asset management GIS systems.
Pacific Alliance Technologies delivered a web mapping solution that integrated ESRI ArcGIS Server 10 with the Diamond Financial and WorkTech systems. Whitehorse was able to achieve an easy to use, visual portal into the municipal enterprise data from a spatial perspective. PAT was selected due to the firm’s long history of Web GIS services and extensive technical skills in working with ESRI ArcGIS Server 10 along with their strength in system integration.
iVAULT Municipal
To deliver this integration, PAT implemented iVAULT Municipal which has been specifically designed with the ArcGIS API for Microsoft Silverlight to service municipal organizations. iVAULT offers components that will allow the City to leverage their investment in their ERP and asset management data and work processes to create a feature rich GIS environment. iVAULT is a geospatial web portal that provides easy searching, reporting and viewing of all the City’s data.
“One of our main objectives was to provide the City of Whitehorse staff with a self-service method of querying and reporting on mapping and tabular information.” stated Mike Merrett, GIS/Database Specialist at the City of Whitehorse. “A self-service system will free our GIS and other staff from time-consuming map and data tasks while providing the city with a “value added” innovative approach using our existing framework and designing a solution to speed up the implementation process by re-using common components.” These components have evolved from PAT’s extensive experience of implementing web mapping applications for over 50 municipalities and other organizations. Using this approach, the City of Whitehorse benefited from a number of ready-made capabilities that can be easily configured to produce a functional Web GIS solution.
Skilled and Experienced Team
PAT’s technical team was instrumental in the success of this project by leveraging the skills and experience to streamline the project methodology, implementation, and service that has been refined through their experience workting with many municipal organizations across North America. Past experience with both StarDyne Technolgies’ sister companies, Diamond Municipal Systems and WorkTech Inc. allowed PAT to leverage their resources without complex project management and project planning. The nature of the ready-made integration solutions removes the need to technically develop product integration. PAT, Diamond, and WorkTech were all committed to the continued development of integrated solutions. Resources from all three organizations work together on an on-going basis to ensure their solutions are continually improving and that our integrations are fully supported.
