Viewing Features

The iVAULT web portal interface has been developed with simplicity in mind.  The intuitive design enables novice users to navigate the application with little or no training.  For more complex applications, the interface can be extended to include advanced tools and features while maintaining its straightforward structure.

Interface Design
Color schemes and themes are easily adjusted through the iVAULT Administrator, allowing the interface to reflect your organization’s identity.  Everything in the interface is designed to be configurable and easy to use, resulting in an intuitive and functional way to view your data. The user can easily switch between the Search, Report, Legend, and Analysis tabs which provide tools to match most work-flows.  The tabbed task panel can be configured to include additional productivity tools.  For example, the user can perform spatial analysis by displaying thematic maps and generating buffers to identify features based on proximity.

Map Navigation All basic map navigation tools for zooming, panning and selecting features within the map are available.  A key map is provided for extensive mapping data sets, to provide context as you navigate the main map.  The interface is designed to maximize your screen real estate enabling you to better visualize your spatial data.  You can collapse the top and/or side panels to display to display a larger map as required.  All these navigational components are configurable so that you can to include the specific tools that are relevant to your business and change the layout to suit your preferences and language. iVAULT allows the user to pan, zoom all, zoom rectangle, and zoom previous, as well as zoom in and zoom out.  Map display is optimized so that at different zoom scales different data is viewable.  iVAULT also has an overview map so that the operator always know what area they are zoomed in to.

Search The search and results panels can be configured to show the data your users need.  Using the iVAULT Administrator, you can easily specify which fields are included in each of the reports.  Tools are provided to perform actions on these data, such as CSV export, detailed report and image print, mailing notification, etc. Tailored for various audiences, queries can be defined to return different types of data and controls, making it easy for the user to find what they need. Address, Street name, PID number and Folio Number are populated in iVAULT from a view of the information in the database. There are also many other methods of searching such as “places of interest”, municipal services, facilities and transportation hubs.  We have simplified address searching to minimize our support demand and provide a superior user experience.

Result In the example at right, the result of a search is a display of information from the database about that property. This is a subset of all available data and includes PID, Folio Number, Address, Legal Description, Zoning, a link to further information about the zoning and lot size.

Tools A range of tools are provided to supplement your current work-flows.  These tools are being supplemented constantly to increase iVAULT’s return on investment.

Legend The layer list allows the operator to turn on and off any layer they prefer.  It also acts as a map legend that displays map symbols as well as allowing hierarchical map legend capability – to allow the operator to drill into the data they would like without having a highly complex legend. The legend is also dynamic, allowing the operator to control red-lines and buffers that they’ve created.  Layer and data security is set-up under password within the iVAULT administrator.

Print There are two methods of printing maps – one is printing and the other is more advanced plotting.  Printing creates PDF documents.  Both allow inclusion of standard map content like north arrow, title, scale and page set-up options, as shown at right.

Buffer
The buffer tool is highly configurable by the administrator, and with the right privileges, by the user.  In this example a user wanted to find the property values of all adjoining parcels.  So the operator created a buffer, which selected the adjoining parcels and will provide a list of the property values.
Redlining
iVAULT’s redlining functionality is fully featured and is available out of the box to allow authenticated stakeholders to enter geographic data (points, lines and polygons), through the iVAULT interface.  Using iVAULT Edit authenticated users can also enter and edit attribute information related to any geographic entity.
Theme Map Layers
Theming is a standard GIS functionality that extends the use of mapping as a reporting tool. iVAULT’s theming is highly configurable to fit into your current work-flow.
Detailed Reports

Site Administrator The Administrator enables point-and-click configuration of the Web GIS site. With it, you can define relationships between the spatial data and attribute data; define queries and reports, set up map themes, users, user groups, and more… all without any coding. The Administrator will enable you to respond quickly and efficiently to new requests for data, searches and reports, by simply using the controls provided in the Administrator module.
